The Waukesha Chess Club is open!

Health and Safety Precautions

Paramount to the Waukesha Chess Club is the health and safety of our members.

  • If you are feeling ill, do not come to the club.
  • If in the last ten days you have been exposed to someone who is COVID-19 positive, then do not come to the club.
  • If you are a person who is at risk you should consider not comimg to the club at this time.
Everyone should use their best judgement and decide each Wednesday evening whether or not it is safe for them and others to come to the club that night.

Policy on Masks

If both players prefer to play without a mask, then you may do so in the west room of the playing site at the Eagles Club. If either one of the players prefers to play with a mask, then both players are required to wear a mask and you must play in the east room of the playing site at the Eagles Club. Although masks are available if necessary, players and visitors should bring their own. Masks must be worn properly (fully covering one’s mouth and nose) at all times if not playing or spectating in the west room. There should be only one board per table, so as to provide for as much social distancing as possible. Hand sanitizer will be available and both players are responsible for wiping down the board and pieces after their game. The Board of Directors of the Waukesha Chess Club published updated COVID-19 precautions on April 25, 2021 and you can read them here
